SPOM Admit Card: Download and Common Problems

The admit card comes from the same portal you booked on. The complications arise from details you cannot edit there — and the time to discover that is now, not the night before.

Verify current procedures on the SPMT portal

How to download it

1

Log in to the SPMT portal

Go to spmt.icai.org and sign in with your SSP credentials. There is no separate SPMT login.

2

Find your confirmed booking

Your dashboard lists bookings you have made. Locate the one for the module you are due to sit.

3

Download and save

Download the admit card against that booking and save a copy locally as well as on the device.

4

Check every detail, then print

Verify everything against the checklist below, then print a hard copy to carry with you.

There is no general release date

Because tests run continuously rather than in fixed examination cycles, the admit card is tied to your individual booking rather than to an announcement. Do not wait for a notification — check your dashboard after confirming a booking.

What to check on it

Go through all of these as soon as you download it, not on the morning of the test:

DetailWhat to verify
NameMatches your photo identity document exactly
PhotographClear, recent and recognisably you
SignatureLegible and yours
ModuleThe correct set and paper — particularly if you booked more than one
Date and reporting timeNote the reporting time, which is earlier than the start time
Centre addressFull address, and work out travel time in advance
InstructionsRead them. They govern what you may carry and what is prohibited
Check the centre address early

You choose the city when booking, but the specific centre within that city is allotted. It may not be the part of town you expected. Knowing the address a week ahead lets you plan the journey; finding out on the morning does not.

Fixing wrong photo, signature or details

This is the single most common admit card problem, and the fix is not where students look for it.

These cannot be corrected on the SPMT portal

Photograph, signature, email address and mobile number cannot be updated directly on the SPMT portal. Attempting to edit them there will not work.

The correct process:

1

Update on the SSP portal first

Go to eservices.icai.org and update your information, photograph or signature there. SSP is your master student record and everything flows from it.

2

Then inform the SPMT helpdesk

Contact the SPMT helpdesk so that the updated information is taken across from the SSP portal. The update does not always propagate on its own.

3

Re-download and verify

Once the correction is through, download the admit card again and check the corrected detail now appears.

Do this before you book, ideally

Checking your SSP details are correct before booking a slot avoids the whole problem. It takes five minutes and removes a genuine risk of trouble at the centre.

If the admit card does not appear

Work through these in order:

  • Is the booking actually confirmed? Deduction of the fee does not by itself mean the registration was successful. Check that the booking shows as confirmed on the dashboard.
  • Are you looking at the right module? If you have multiple bookings, the card is issued against each one separately.
  • Is it too early? Give it time after confirming the booking before assuming there is a fault.
  • Is the portal under maintenance? ICAI periodically suspends portal functions for upgrades, announced on the ICAI website.
  • Still nothing? Contact the SPMT helpdesk with your booking details rather than rebooking or paying again.

What to carry to the centre

  • Printed admit card. Print it rather than relying on a phone.
  • Valid photo identity document. The name should match your admit card.
  • Anything the instructions specify. Read the instructions printed on the card itself — these govern what is permitted at the centre.

Two practical points on the day:

  • Arrive at the reporting time, not the start time. They are different.
  • You cannot leave early. Candidates are required to remain for the prescribed minimum period, so plan your day on the basis of the full two hours.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I download my SPOM admit card?

From spmt.icai.org, logging in with your SSP credentials. It appears against your confirmed booking.

When is the admit card released?

It is linked to your individual booking rather than to a general release date, since tests run continuously. Check your dashboard after booking.

My photograph is wrong. How do I correct it?

Update it on the SSP portal at eservices.icai.org, then inform the SPMT helpdesk so the corrected detail is taken across. It cannot be changed on the SPMT portal directly.

Can I use a soft copy on my phone at the centre?

Carry a printed copy. Follow the instructions printed on the admit card regarding what is required and permitted.

Can I change my centre after booking?

You choose the city at booking but the specific centre is allotted. Options for changing a confirmed booking are limited, so choose carefully at the outset.

What if my name does not match my ID?

Correct it on the SSP portal and inform the SPMT helpdesk well before the test date. Do not leave a mismatch unresolved.

Can I leave the exam early if I finish?

No. Candidates must remain for the prescribed minimum period.

Check before you act

Portal procedures and centre instructions are set by ICAI and may be revised. Confirm the current position on the SPMT portal and read the instructions on your own admit card.
